- Glass will be separated by colour. The colour will remain when the glass is melted; meaning green glass will still be green glass, brown will be brown and clear will be clear.
- Once the glass is colour-sorted and cleaned, it can be crushed and added to other raw materials to make new glass. These ingredients are heated until they melt into a soft liquid. The hot molten glass is pressed and blown into moulds where it forms bottles and jars.
- The new containers are cooled and checked for flaws. Finally, they are shipped to companies where they are filled with foods and beverages.
