If I register my industrial design in Malaysia, am I protected in other countries?

No, an industrial design protection granted by Malaysia is only for protection in Malaysia.

In order to have your designs protected in other countries, applications for registration will have to be filed in any of the Paris Convention member countries within six (6) months from the filing date in Malaysia.

Malaysia is not a Hague System member (Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs - a WIPO-administered treaty) as of now. Thus a single international registration application with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) 1 is not offered.
