How do I obtain the permission to reproduce the Malaysian currency (banknotes and coins) for advertising?

If you wish to reproduce any Malaysian currency, notes and coins, for advertising or any other purpose, you are required to submit a written application 1 to the Central Bank of Malaysia (Malay: Bank Negara Malaysia) 2 seven (7) working days prior to the proposed date of reproduction.

Your application should be addressed to:
    Director
    Currency Management and Operations Department
    Bank Negara Malaysia

    Jalan Dato' Onn
    50480 Kuala Lumpur.

The sample of notes or coins to be reproduced has to be attached with the application letter.

Before you receive a written permission from the Central Bank of Malaysia, you are not allowed to reproduce any Malaysian currency even if the requirements or conditions set out by the Central Bank of Malaysia have been met.

For printed media, a permit number issued by Bank Negara Malaysia must be printed at the bottom right side of the printed visual.

The Bank Negara Malaysia's approval is only valid for one (1) year from the date of approval.
