Who can apply for refund of unclaimed moneys? Who is entitled to unclaimed moneys?

Section 8, Part II (Moneys in Companies and Firms) of the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965 (Act 370) states:

Section 8 Interpretation, Part II (Moneys in Companies and Firms) of the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965 (Act 370)
"owner" means the person entitled to any unclaimed moneys and includes his executors, administrators or assigns or, in the case of a company within the meaning of the Companies Act 1965, its liquidators, or his or their lawful attorney or agent in Malaysia.


In the case of savings account of a minor operated by an individual as trustee, claim of refund can only be considered if it is made by the trustee unless the minor has attained that age of 18 years at the time of making the claim or 12 years of age for Bank Simpanan Nasional 1 account holder.
