Groomsmen Gift Ideas

Hey grooms - did you know that it is customary to give each of the men in your wedding party a special present? The groomsmen gift is a nice way to say thank you to your best man, groomsmen, and ushers (if separate from groomsmen). Not a big fan of shopping? No problem! This great list has all sorts of terrific ideas for groomsmen gifts that your guys will really like.

The perfect groomsmen gift may not be the same as a great present for a birthday or other holiday. In general, they should be something of lasting value. So if you want to get your guys a subscription to the beer-of-the-month club, be sure to give them a heavy personalized beer mug to go with it. Or if you think your groomsmen would really dig imported cigars, make a set out of some cigars, a mini-humidor, and an engraved silver lighter. That way, they will have something to remember your wedding by long after the consumable gift is gone.

Cufflinks are one of the most traditional gifts for groomsmen. They are particularly nice if the men will be wearing shirts for the wedding which require cufflinks, but they can be an excellent choice even when the groomsmen will not need them for their wedding attire. Classic styles such as round or oval cufflinks are good for your groomsmen who tend to like timeless clothing like oxford shirts, khakis, and golf shirts. For your friends whose taste is more metropolitan than country club, opt for a more contemporary cufflink design, such as a brushed silver square. Whichever design you select, be sure to have it engraved with each man's initial. You can choose to do a three letter monogram, or just the first letter of his last name.

There are many other handsome silver items which are excellent ideas for groomsmen gifts. Money clips are among the most popular, and are often personalized. Silver pocket knives are both attractive and practical, something that any man would like to receive. For the groomsman who likes to entertain in style, a silver bottle opener would make a nice addition to his bar. Or for the man with an appreciation for the finer things in life, consider a silver pocketwatch. Keep in mind that you don't have to get the same thing for each of your groomsmen, as long as the gifts are all of similar value. Any combination of silver gifts items in one price range would be great, and you can mix and match them to fit the personality of the recipient.

Drinking themed presents are also quite popular for groomsmen. If you and your buddies like to get together every Sunday to watch the big game, how about a personalized NFL mug? A heavy mug with his initials and the logo of his favorite MLB team would be a terrific idea for the baseball fan in your wedding. Or go with a simple and classic heavy etched beer mug so he can enjoy his favorite beverage in style. Leather, silver, or plaid flasks with a monogram are another top groomsmen gift idea.

While you are at it, remember to pick up something for the junior groomsmen or ring bearer (preferably not with a drinking theme!). Silver piggy banks, hard cover classic books, or customized sports gear are all good ideas for the young men in a wedding. After all, you want to make sure that all of the men in your wedding know that their presence is appreciated.
