Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Polytechnic (POLIMAS), Kedah

Also known as the Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (POLIMAS) in Malay term. Established in February 1984 as Politeknik Alor Setar. On March 23, 1989, the POLIMAS was officially opened and named after the Sultan of Kedah. The 3rd polytechnic under the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. It aims at providing training and education to both SPM and SPM (V) school-leavers in order to produce quality manpower at semi-professional level to meet the needs of public and private sectors in Malaysia. POLIMAS offers full-time certificate and diploma courses in civil engineering, building services, town and regional planning, architecture, quantity surveying, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, information technology, accountancy, marketing and business studies. The industrial training programme (LI) is an integral part of all courses offered. Practical training is compulsory.
