Started on July 10, 2003, Wikibooks is a collection of free or open-content textbooks, annotated texts, instructional guides and manuals. These materials can be used in a traditional classroom, an accredited or respected institution, a home-school environment or for self-learning. Most types of books, both fiction and non-fiction are not allowed, unless they are instructional. Wikibooks has two sub-projects; Wikijunior which is aimed at children and the Cookbook which is a collection of recipes and culinary topics.
