Zoo Taiping & Night Safari Malaysia
Located at the Lake Gardens in Taiping, Perak close to the foot of the Larut Hill (Maxwell Hill).
Taiping Zoo, also known as Taman Mergastua Sultan Idris Shah, is the only zoo in the North of Peninsular Malaysia covering an area of 34 acres.
Taiping Zoo opens every day of the year from 8:30am to 6:00pm while the Night Safari from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.
Taiping Zoo is currently home to more than 180 species of animals. These include Tigers, Lions, Elephants, Hippopotamus, Giraffes, Hornbills, Orang Utans, Siamang, Deer, Nilgai and others.
Taiping Night Safari is the first of its kind in Malaysia. Bathed in lighting similar to moonlight, the beauty and splendor of nature is enhanced. Visitors will be able to experience this environment similar to wildlife habitats where sounds made by creatures can be heard.
Feeding, disturbing the animals, torch lights and flash cameras are prohibited.
