Malaysia's first commuter airlines officially launched on October 1, 2007. MASwings is the new regional airlines operating the Rural Air Services (RAS) in East Malaysia, taking over the operation from FlyAsianXpress (FAX). MASwings caters to the air travel needs of Sabah and Sarawak's traveling population by providng affordable fares, convenient schedule and connections within the two largest states in Malaysian. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, providing service with the same Malaysia Airlines hospitality. MASwings will use 13 fleets that focuses in Miri, Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
