Council of Europe Publishing is the Council of Europe's official publishing arm and offers a wide choice of books and electronic products in all the subject areas linked to the cooperation developed between the 47 members states.

The Council of Europe Publishing site presents the full catalogue of paid-for publications produced by the Council of Europe over the last 10 years, a total of over 1,200 books and electronic publications such as CD-ROMs, PDF files and videos. The works published by the Council of Europe include comparative studies, monographs, topical debates, proceedings of colloquies, international legal instruments, and official texts.

Council of Europe Publishing produces works in all the Organisation's spheres of reference, including human rights, legal science (constitutional law, criminal law, family law, labour law etc.), health, ethics, social affairs, environment, education, culture, sport, youth and architectural heritage.

Council of Europe Publishing also tackles current issues, in collections aimed at the general public: Ethical eye, Human rights files.

Every book or electronic publication may be ordered direct, on-line, via this site. A virtual reading room enables you to consult excerpts from the main works just published or the full texts of certain official documents such as conventions, at no cost.

Our books are published either in one of the official languages of the Council of Europe (English and French) or in a bilingual edition. Most of them are also translated into other European or non-European languages by our partner publishers.
