Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ)

Petaling Jaya was managed by Kuala Lumpur District Officer and Petaling Jaya Municipal Board until the end of 1954. The power to administer Petaling Jaya was then given to Petaling Jaya Town Authority.

On January 1, 1964, Petaling Jaya Municipal Board (Lembaga Bandaran Petaling Jaya) was established to administer Petaling Jaya. The Municipal Board was upgraded to Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya-MPPJ (PJ Municpal Council) on January 1, 1977.

On June 20, 2006, Petaling Jaya was granted city status. Thus MPPJ was upgraded and known as the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ). SS area (numbered section at Sg. Way/Subang district), Subang Jaya, Section 52 (New Town) has been united to become a municipal under MBPJ.

The Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) official website features e-services (complaint, e-form, e-tender, MBPJ GIS, summon enquiry), library, e-community and forum.
