Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia
Also known as the Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS), Malaysia in Malay term. The history of the Ministry dates back to 1953 with the establishment of the Culture Division under the Social Welfare Department, which was responsible for issues related to youth. In 1964, the Division was placed under the Ministry of Information. Subsequently, the Youth and Sports Divisions were formed respectively. The Ministry of Youth and Sports was established on May 15, 1964 in conjunction with the National Youth Day. In 1972, the Culture Division was formed and the Ministry was renamed Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. It was again renamed the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 1987 and entrusted to implement the national policy for youth and sports development.
