Lembaga Pelahuhan Johor (LPJ)

Also known as the Johore Port Authority in English. LPJ is placed under the purview of the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia. Established in 1976 under the Port Authorities Act 1963 (Akta Lembaga-Lembaga Pelabuhan), LPJ started operation in 1977 and is the first port in Malaysia with its own free trade zone. In 1995, the operation of the port was privatised to Johor Port Berhad and LPJ became the regulatory body to regulate the operations of ports in Johor Port Water Limits. Covers regulation and enforcement in three locations, namely the Johor Port at Pasir Gudang, the Tanjung Pelepas Port at Gelang Patah and the Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal at Kota Tinggi.
