Department of Railway, Malaysia

Commonly known as the Jabatan Keretapi in Malay term. Department of Railway is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport. Established on August 1, 1992 under the Railway Act 1991 when the administration of Keretapi Tanah Melayu is embodied to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad. The Department of Railway main aim is to encourage the service of all train types into becoming a service transport for the public and transport goods that is popular, safe and efficient with affordable rates so that it can accommodate current and future demands.
