Institute for Medical Research (IMR)

Established in 1900. In 1967, IMR was declared Malaysia's National Centre for Tropical Medicine under the SEAMEO. IMR is the research arm of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia and provides diagnostic services of specialised tests to various hospitals and clinics. It also provides advisory and consultative services to the MOH, other government departments, agencies, institutions in the country and international organisations; and offers several scientific and technical training programmes for a wide variety of disciplines in biomedical research to local and foreign participants.
