Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB)

Also known as the Development Bank of Malaysia in English term. Incorporated on November 28, 1973 as Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB). Name changed to Bank Pembangunan dan Infrastruktur Malaysia Berhad (BPIMB) in December 1998. On September 30, 2005, the bank changed its name to Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) again. BPMB is a development financial institution (DFI) owned by the Malaysian Government through the Ministry of Finance Inc. The bank is mandated to provide medium to long term financing to capital-intensive industry, which include infrastructure projects, maritime and high technology sectors. The bank also made a number of strategic investments and amongst its subsidiaries are Bank Perusahaan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank), Global Maritime Ventures Berhad (GMV) and Pembangunan Leasing Corporation Sdn. Bhd (PLC).
