Who was Kenyatta Jomo?

Kenyatta Jomo (1883 - 1978) was the Kenyan nationalist leader spending much of his life campaigning for Kenya independence from British rule.

He became the first Prime Minister and later President of an independent Kenya in 1963.

He was also the author for the book Facing Mount Kenya that was a landmark in African nationalism.


Who was Nkrumah Kwame?

Nkrumah Kwame (1909 - 1972) founded the Convention People's Party and was the country's first Prime Minister at independence.

When Ghana became a republic in 1960, he became the first President.

In 1966, he was ousted in a coup and died in exile in Guinea.


Who was Gandhi?

Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchad (1869 - 1948) was an Indian lawyer, ascetic and Hindu spiritual leader.

He led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.

He was sent to prison several times largely by non-violent civil disobedience.

He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as a means of both self-purification and social protest.

In January 1948, a Hindu fanatic assassinated Gandhi because he preached peace with Muslims.
