SIGuardian is a powerful utility tool that monitors hard-drive health and prevents HDDs failures and malfunctions. Using S.M.A.R.T. technology included in all modern HDDs, SIGuardian predicts the final date of HDD lifetime, so that you can make backup copies of all your data before it's too late. S.M.A.R.T. stands for "Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology" and is currently the most advanced technology in this field; this technology was developed by HDD manufacturers and is supported by IBM, Maxtor, Seagate, Hitachi and many others.
SIGuardian works with Win95/98/ME/NT4/2000 and has two modes of operation - Basic & Advanced. The Basic features include hard disk information (manufacturer, numbers of cyls, heads, tracks, etc.), information about current work mode, showing values of S.M.A.R.T. attributes in numerical and graphical forms, checking disks at system startup, showing threshold values of attributes, analyzing and calculating the date of reaching Threshold Exceeded Condition (T.E.C.). The last three features are unique and this features combination is not present in any other similar applications. This mode (Basic) targets the regular user, who may not have specific computer education. The Advanced features also include some unique ones - full hard disk information, individual options for each disk, showing the Raw and Worst attribute values. This mode (Advanced) is designed for the advanced user - IT professionals, System Administrators, etc.
SIGuardian is used extensively throughout the IT industry. This reliable utility should be in the "software toolkit" of every professional system administrator.
