Explore and Search for Pokemon
Pokemon are out there. Use your Pokemon Go Map View to find them. The map is based on real-world map of the streets and pathways where you're standing.
As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there's a Pokemon nearby.
Pokemon loves places like public parks and recreation areas. Look for Pokemon at habitats that match where they're most likely to live.
Visit PokeStops, found at popular landmarks like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments, to stock up on Poke Balls and helpful items.
Catching Pokemon
When you encounter a wild Pokemon on the map, throw Poke Balls to catch the Pokemon using your touch screen. Your chances of catching a Pokemon is affected by the type of Poke Ball you used, your throwing technique and other factors.
Catch a lot of Pokemon to earn Experience Points (XP) and increase your level!
As you level up, you'll be able to catch more-powerful Pokemon to complete your Pokedex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokemon Eggs based on the distances you walk.
Catch enough of the same kind of Pokemon and it will evolved.
Teams and Gym Battles
You may be asked to join a team where you'll can assign Pokemon you've caught to open Gym locations or to a location where a team member has placed one of this or her Pokemon.
You can battle together to attack a Gym and assign your Pokemon to defend the Gym against all comers.
Every Gym has a Prestige amount that determines how difficult it will be to take it over. Add Pokemon and train at your Gym to increase its Prestige and gain a level.
Pokemon Photos
Snap photos of Pokemon, when you encounter a wild Pokemon using your smartphone camera which will display real-life surroundings as the background, making Pokemon to appear on your screen as if they were with you in the real world.
In-App Purchases
Pokemon GO is free to play but supports in-app purchases for PokeCoins, which can be exchanged for power-ups and other items such as lucky eggs, incense, egg incubators, lure Modules, bag upgrade, Poke Balls pack and storage upgrade.
