LAW IN ITALY
The law of Italy is derived from a number of sources. The modern law of Italy is mainly based on the Constitution of Italy and influenced by codified Roman Law and the Napoleonic and Germany civil codes.

The Supreme Court of Cassation, locally called the 'Corte Suprema di Cassazione' is the highest court in Italy.

A lawyer licensed to practise law in Italy is known as 'Avvocato'. An avvocato must be registered with a mandatory local bar association. The National Bar Association (Consiglio Nazionale Forense) encompasses all bar associations and represents the legal profession in Italy at national level.
