I have been locked in a disagreement with a maid agency for not fulfilling their obligations. I requested for refund from the agency but failed. After went through hard time attempting to get back my money, I found my last hope – consumer tribunal.

My case was set to be heard at the tribunal on 15 October 2014. The tribunal President awarded me a refund to be paid by the maid agency within 14 days or the maid agency will face criminal charges under Section 117(1) APP 1999!!

But unfortunately, the maid agency refused to refund after 14 days. I made a complain of non-compliance with the award to the Enforcement Division, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism on 30 October 2014.

On 29 January 2015, my lawyer served the maid agency a Notice 218 which they have to pay the refund within 21 days. As until today 1st March 2015, I still have not get back my hard-earned money yet!!

I want JUSTICE!!! Please tell me where can I find it………

How much is the award?

You have 2 options,

a. Keep checking with Ministry of Trade and pestering them on when they will charge the agency manager with criminal charges ( for not paying the award ) or

b. Get your lawyer to file for Writ of Seizure and Sale where you can get a court bailiff to go to the agency office and threaten to seize assets to be sold in a auction. ( you should go together with bailiff)

Thanks for reply... Option B sounds a bit 'gangster'... And will this cost a lot if ask lawyer to do this.... Just paid a bomb for the notice 218.
