Our company employed a foreign worker (Service Engineer) from Philippine. During his tenure, he fall ill (having skin cancer) & took unpaid leave to seek medical treatment in his country. While he was there, he passed away. Now the parents write to us to claim for his "Personal life and accident insurance in accordance with Department of Labor And Employment (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration). The company covered him under AIA for medical insurance.
1) does the company need to buy him life insurance?
2) if yes & we didn't buy, what can we do next
3) if no need, is there a specify statement/law that exempt the company
