Need some advice

Hi,
I need some advice on my case. I am working for this well known MNC company for nearly 14 years. (Local employed). My performance was always good and received my performance merit increment and bonus every year. Lately, they have rated my performance very bad with some unrealistic comments. So I am not getting anything for this year and wanted me to go through Performance Improvement Plan program for 3-6 months if my performance can be raised back. I know this is their excuse and trying to get rid of me because company in mid of regression and set me will cost them a lot of money. Another thing, my immediate boss is not favor to some of us because he also get hit badly with his manager performance review for 2 consecutive years.

They want me to sign and acknowledge my current performance review which I decline to do so. Please advise what i should do next? How could i protect myself (get back what i deserve for no of years of services) if i need to bring this matter to court once they fire me? (Remark. i have save down my performance track records and some evidences of my works.)

Hi there

You need to make sure you comply with all their requirements to the best of your abilities and keep records, either by saying them in your pen drive or external harddsik. If they ask you to sign any performance review and your not happy with the review, always write to them and get them to acknowledge and state clearly why you disagree. At least if at the end of the day the COmpany dismisses you, you can take up your case to the Industrial Court on good footing.

Agreed with Arun.

You need to sign the form - failure to sign can be considered as element of insubornation BUT you need to put your own justification and the supporting point to disagree with the assessment. then it will be documented. Please keep 1 copy.

Bear in mind - all statements must be supported by actual and facts. you may challenge on the guidance, training provided, any communication on your performance throughout the whole year. Performance appraisal is a mechanism to evaluate your performance through out 12 month. Why theres no mid year or quarter review to communicate that -- hey! you need to buck up @ you are not performing as required etc.
