I am single, Chinese girl and I have some questions as below:

1. If I am not married, can I still get the birth certificate for new born baby?
2. Can the father's name to be listed in the birth certificate for new born baby since we are unmarried parents?
3. If the father is a foreigner, what are the procedure and documents needed to get the birth certificate for new born baby?
4. If I register the baby in Malaysia and the father is a foreigner, will the baby become a Malaysia citizen or obtain the citizenship of the father? Or dual citizenship?
5. If the mother is not married and has baby, what is the marital status for the mother? Is she still considered single or otherwise?
6. Will the baby face any problem in the future for example study and anything else because the parents of the baby are not married?

@ jeff005

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've decided not to raise the baby all by self as I'm not financially stable so I rather give to a family in need to adopt.

Why do you need support?
I choose to stay away from my family and planned to live alone until I deliver the baby because I don't wish to let anyone know.

What kind of support?
Support in terms of medical expenses.

@WLWL

What is your question?

they reply me without marriage certificate they can't issue my baby birth certificate and passport
Correct, you have to come back to Malaysia to apply for the Birth Certificate and then MyKid, then only apply for passport. You have to register as a single mother in the child's Malaysian birth certificate. Was the father name in the Aussie Birth Certificate?

@jeff005

Sorry. The post cut off my remaining words. I have to go back to Malaysia to apply? But my baby doesn't have travel document so can he still travel together with me? The father name is not in Aussie birth certificate. I am unmarried single mother.

@ WLWL

I do not know the immigration procedures in Australia.

The Malaysian Embassy in Australia should be the best place to get up to date info. The Embassy can issue you a "exit papers" for your child as he is Malaysian by birth via your citizenship. Bring the "exit papers" to the nearest Aussie Immigration in your place to get endorsements. Your son will travel on a one way ticket back to Malaysia with you.

Welcome Home Sonny..!!

The 1st and 2nd child are from the same father. The 1st child birth certificate was hard to get already.

Is the name of father in the first child birth certificate?
What were the issues faced at Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN)?
You mean the first child have not gotten the birth certificate yet?

My wife and I had a baby without wedlock. But after a month we are married.

My son doesn't have father name listed on his birth certificate is there a way that my name could be added.

I don't want my son to later get bullied in school by management or etc.
