In search for some help and hope someone could advice me. Much needed advice.

I am a Malaysian Non Muslim planning to marry an Indonesian Muslim woman in Indonesia. Everything from the Indonesia side is going smoothly, the question would be from the Malaysian legal front.

Can I get the 'Surat Ijin Kahwin' from the Malaysian government (Civil Registry) with my current scenario of Malaysian Non Muslim and Indonesian Muslim? Which means going through the National Registration Department Malaysia, Ministry of Home Affairs, Marriage and Divorce Division, Embassy of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur dan Ministry of Foreign Affairs?

Have a few more but help with the above will be much appreciated.

@ BrianC

There is no legal marriage between a muslim and non muslim in Malaysia.
However, In Indonesia and Thailand it is accepted.

You have to convert in order to have your marriage registered in Malaysia
