Has the birth certificate been collected already?
What is the reason you want to put the father's name in the birth certificate?

This is not true.
You can get a birth certificate but the father's name will be blank.  ( tiada maklumat bapa )

Hi PRIYA,

It is quite impossible legally to put the name of a deceased father into a child's BC unless a Marriage cerificate and a Death Certificate is present on registration where upon there "may" be a note stated there on the BC as "Deceased" as the father could not be around to sign the relevant documents at JPN.

A Father is physically present and required to produce his MyKad and and sign on other verification documents.

There are possible reasons as to why you would like to put the name of the Father there
1/ For "closure" emotions
2/ Emotional Attachments to the Father (This is our Love Child)
3/ A sense of belonging and closure for the child in the future.

Your child will be able to get a BC as you a Malaysian.

Your case is sad and rare.
If you would accept the name of "foster father" or "Godfather", then it is possible.(From close willingly relatives). Although in the old times, 60 years, there were such practices in some cultures but rarely documented and discussed nowadays.
