Dear All,

Recently I purchased a landed property in Iskandar Johor state for RM600,000 from a developer. The developer provided a free legal fees for the SPA. However the stamp duty on transfer is on buyer.

The panel lawyer provided bill on the stamp duty on transfer (on estimate) to be RM12,000
                         another major item is Registration Fee on transfer to be RM2,200

I try to surf the internet on the Registration Fee on transfer, however could not find anything on this.
Can anyone experience on this matter share on this whether it is normal and fair to pay this amount by the house buyer.

Call the lawyer and ask what the Registration Fee is about.

Dear vkpc,

According to the lawyer, for property exceeding RM500,000 registration on transfer is RM2,000 plus RM100 on every further RM50,000 value of land or part thereof. Is it so?

Just tell them that you don't want the Registration Services, then no need to pay the Registration Fee.
