Surau is part of the employee's facility.

When you have a Muslim worker, then it is best to have a place comfortable enough (and clean too) for them to perform their prayers. If due to lack of space, you cannot convert a room to be a Surau, therefore, you must allow them to pray at the nearest Surau. They can always perform the Zuhur prayer during lunch hour and the Asar prayer at home. However, that may be an issue if there isn't any Surau nearby.

Thus, if that is not an option, then during the interview process, you must inform the candidate that there is no Surau facility.

Which other religion needs a private room to pray? Do not undermine religious issues if you are a Malaysian. Speak with a quiet mind not in a open media. You appeared to be mentally challenged.

If your workplace is small, staff will find places like meeting room for prayers.
If your workplace is really small, staff will find outside places.
The law is silent about providing prayer spaces at workplace.
