i come from a religious, conservative family. I have a father working at Pusat Zakat Sabah. So, what i don't understand is, my step-mom told me that I could fined for being unmarried and pregnant. Is that true, or not? because yesterday, I met a consultant. she told me that I won't be jailed because I am at a legal age. So, when I told my step-mom that, she said it's not because of age. its because i'm a muslim. can somebody help me?

Did you attended religious school from young age?

Should be accurate. My muslims friends tell me the same thing.

I met a consultant. she told me that I won't be jailed because I am at a legal age
Correct under Constitutional Law
Muslims is also encompassed by Islamic Laws
Please check with qualified Syariah Lawyers
Syariah Laws in the Middle East countries is even more strict.

she said it's not because of age. its because i'm a muslim.
True.. but wish to add.. NOT only age but could be in line with religious muslim laws.

Your step-mom is a Wise Mother.

No, not true. trust me, I'm a muslim (non malay though). but you might face scorn frm people around you

2/she told me that I won't be jailed because I am at a legal age.
The consultant is correct

3/So, when I told my step-mom that, she said it's not because of age. its because i'm a muslim. can somebody help me?
your stepmom was probably very angry and disappointed at you. i understand the tendency to exaggerate.

if you are pregnant outside wedlock by having consensual sex, no one can punish you. you don't even have to get married, contrary to what people often say. the only difficulty you might face is when you give birth at a government hospital. you will be referred to a social worker where they will give you an option to give your child up for adoption or if you choose to take care of the kid, you must prove that you have means and a proper support system in order to do so.
