Hi, I’ve written to my employer asking for my wages to be paid in cash, as per Section 25 of The Employment act 1955, and they’ve refused.
Can you advise What steps should I take next to resolve this?
They’ve point blank refused, by just Stating ‘no the can’t pay me in cash’. Any help greatly appreciated.

25 (1) of the Employment Act, the employer must pay the employee's wages through bank.
Can you advise What steps should I take next to resolve...?
If your current employer does not appreciate your contributions to the company, it is time to move on and to find a new workplace.
What are the reasons for your request for CASH wages payments?
Your banking acct been suspended due to abuse of banking facilities?
You have been adjudged as a bankrupt or under bankruptcy proceedings?
Even legal foreigner workers got to have a banking acct for their wages.
It is a mandatory law.
The law is also provided for, for personal taxation There are too many tax defaulters. The moment a person defaults on paying personal taxes, the Tax Dept can apply to close any personal banking accts plus apply for a garnishment order from the court.

Thanks for your reply/answer, I’m in U.K…
My reason for wanting payment in Cash is simply personal preference. I have no problem with my employer. I haven’t abused my banking facilities, nor am I bankrupt or going through bankruptcy proceedings.
My interpretation of this act is, my employer has to pay me in cash, legally. As long as I ask in writing.

The employer is legally empowered to reject such request.
Unless your banking accts has been blacklisted and or/frozen by Bank Negara Malaysia,, the local employer have to seek permission from the Labor Dept to pay CASH.. with these valid reasons.
In addition any remittances of any sorts to overseas is subject to Financial Laws.
There is also a Double Taxation Agreement with U.K. in place and must abide to the Employment Laws of both countries and requires bank financial statements in substantiate the agreement otherwise it can be deemed as evasion of personal taxation.
You are just referring to a particular law as in EA 1955
There are also Taxation Act, Company Act 1965 (which encompass companies) and even Immigration ACT 155.
