I have received my absolute decree for divorce last year December 2021, till now April 2022 my X husband-petitioner refused to get our status updated at JPN, what can I do? Can I get update with my own documents as I do not have his documents - IC/ passport? This issue really stress my wellbeing as I do not understand why he refuse to co-operate since we had got the absolute decree by the court.

Hellow kiddo..

I have received my absolute decree
Can I get update with my own documents
Just bring the ori copy with the lawyer's letter to JPN and it would updated.

I do not have his documents - IC/ passport?
Why do you need his docs?. Divorced already why need him?.
You do your own things, he does his, walk different paths.
Why still leech onto him to to your own work?
Where got MY passport number stated in the Marriage Certificate or JPN records? (unless he is a Foreigner). You are overthinking and killing urself mentally, emotionally, for no good reasons.... !!

This issue really stress my wellbeing
When he has updated his own status, maybe to marry another woman, you still need to update on your own using your very own MyKad @JPN in order to re-marry.
Why stress urself for no good reason.. relax..!!

There is no law that states it needs to be updated..
But there is a law that states one needs to have "single status" in order to to register a marriage, even for 2nd or 3rd time for non-Muslim marriages.

The MyKad updating (via electronic imprints in the card) merely states "divorced" within,  whenever it needs to be scanned for official reasons. That's all..

If anyone dies of sudden death, the any insurance benefits will goes to the other ex-spouse unless it have been updated at the relevant agencies. The norm to update immediately is for the purpose of re-marriage..

My lawyer told me they need to sent both party documents for the JPN to update the status. So I m really puzzle if he doesn't co-operate to give his documents then our married status to divorce status will never be updated so meaning I can't remarried in future.

Really?
New laws?
You have a lawyer?
Why can't he/she extract the dekri nisi mutlak from the Courts?

Sorry I didn't know there is a new law /procedure..

Very good wat.. both cannot remarry.. without either side permission to update @JPN..

Logic vs NO Logic..

Thanks to your lawyer.
Now I can sue my ex wife for faking my docs in order she could marry her new man.
My MyKad still says that i,m married (divorced 10++ years ago)

New Laws & Procedures?.

do I really need his details too?
Yours and his details  is inside the Decree Nisi Absolute.
Go read it.. !!
Updating is inside your physical MyKad..

Please larr.. why can't you just take a trip to the nearest JPN and check for yourself instead of asking your lawyer and in this forum? Your area is still under EMCO ka?
