I have been receiving calls from Aiqon Capital saying that I owe money on my credit card debt with AmBank. I have already settled the balance with AmBank a few years back. The officer at that time told me it was the last payment. I asked for a release letter which they never sent me. And now Aiqon Capital is calling and bugging me everyday asking to pay. I have already asked Ambank to send me the last card statement I have with them before they sold the debt to to Aiqon Capital. I have also been asking Aiqon Capital to send me a statement. As of today, I am still waiting for statements from both parties. What should I do? Any advice?

@simyin

Do you still have the last few payments receipts from Ambank as proof of payments?

What sort of "release letter" you are referring to? Release you from what? Lawsuits?

Unfortunately I don't have the receipts anymore. The last payment was made on Oct 2015. Sorry I am referring to the credit card settlement letter. We requested for it but we never got it despite how many reminders.

@simyin

I hope that you still have banking records to back up your "settlement".

I went to Diners Charge Card to cancel the card personally. They printed out the "current statement", well I got my statement and receipt for cash settlement.

However, 10 months later their bill collectors came calling to my house. It seems that they have missed out a RM18 billing. The bill collectors asked for RM880 for settlement of the 10 months default and penalty charges plus interests.

We learn from bad past experiences.

Write a complaint letter to Bank Negara Malaysia, Ambank and the Association of Bank for recourse.

Will do that! In the meantime any advice on how to deal with the Aiqon Capital guys when they call? They keep asking me how I want to resolve it otherwise they will take action.

Can I also ask in the CTOS report under Legal status there is a remark in red 'Summon/writ files 31/12/2009' under the Ambank credit account but the balance is 0. What does that mean?

@simyin

but the balance is 0. What does that mean?
It simply means that there is "a" your involvement in the lawsuit before and there is no amount seek from you from the creditor. Record purpose.
