I was appealing for my study loans reduction from the government body that gave the loans - RM100k to RM50k (in process)

At the same time, debt collector harassed my guarantor to pay some loans back. They managed to make my guarantor to pay RM6k, without my acknowledgment. To make him get rid from blacklisted/bankruptcy.

Questions:

1. Can the guarantor claim the money paid RM6k legally from me?

2. Is there any amount to pay to make guarantor release as my guarantor?

Thank you in advance.

@nickelod3on,

Your case is still pending for loan reduction. Meanwhile  you should start paying your monthly installments promptly. Don't wait till you get your loan reduction.

Debt collector will keep on pressing for payment.

Your guarantor has the right to claim back whatever amount paid. Guarantor cannot apply study loan for their children if loan still has arrears. To eligible for study loan, guarantor needs to pay off 1/3 of the outstanding arrears, but to be fully discharge, your guarantor still needs to pay the full outstanding amount.

Are you sure about this?

A guarantor who guarantees now wants his money back?
