My company has a case with the Ministry Of Health (Malay: Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia) and they issued a summons to come next week at the Shah Alam Magistrate Court. If we plea guilty then we have to pay the fine. Our company is ready to plea guilty and want to appeal to the Magistrate for a lower fine because our company is already inoperative since two years ago.
Can we hire a lawyer to appear/represent us in this session (12th September 2019) if we are unavailable to come? How much is the fee for legal representation to admit guilt?

Can. Preferably a manager attend together with the lawyer as lawyers can sometimes mishandle the case.

Get quotation from the lawyer for the fees.
For the fine amount, it depends on the seriousness of the offence and the charge.

This is called mitigation and your lawyer can do this for you but you need to give the lawyer all the points to say.
For example
a. Company closed down
b. Company making losses
c. First offence by company
d. ......
