I am a foreign student studying in West Malaysia. My potential spouse and I study in the same University. She is from East Malaysia and we are both Muslim. I am planning on marrying her while we complete our studies as full-time students before starting our careers.

Spousal visa to my understanding, is for foreign spouses that wish to live and work in Malaysia.

Based on the information provided, do I need to apply for a spousal visa? Or do I continue my studies on student visa while being married? Any useful information would be highly appreciated.

Are you marrying her for the purpose of getting a spousal visa to work in Malaysia?

(Spousal visa to my understanding, is for foreign spouses that wish to live and work in Malaysia)
Inaccurate info.
All foreign spouse can and should apply.

1.  Does your student pass allow you to marry?

2.  Is your girlfriend on scholarship whereby cannot marry till after graduation?

3.  Do you know that at the expiry or any termination of your student pass, you have to leave Malaysia immediately. If any overstayed you can be banned from Malaysia for a few years?
