One year ago, I lost RM5,000 in gambling. I was out of control after this loss. I wanted to play again but I had no money. As a result, I stole a laptop from one of my roommates. After few weeks, I realised that I did something wrong. I contacted my friend to give him back the money. I gave him the money but he said that his boss had lodged a police report against me for stealing his laptop.

My question is, will I be blacklisted by the Malaysian Immigration for this police report?

Few weeks later, I will go to the Immigration Malaysia for MyEG thumbing. Will the Immigration Malaysia arrest me if they see me blacklisted? Is there any way to remove my name from blacklist? Can I get a visa if my name is cleared from blacklist if possible?

Please help. I am in trouble.

Why you go to MyEG for thumbprints?

What type of visa you are applying for?

Blacklistings (many types) cannot be removed from Immigration Records.

Can the person who lodge the police report help me in this regard? I came to Malaysia on a Student Pass.

Can he withdraw the police report against me if he wants?

This police case (if any) happened 1 year ago.

This is a felony charge, the moment if it can be withdrawn, can you not file a Defamation Charge against that company? Why would a company boss risk his reputation for a illegal foreigner? For just a laptop? Theft is theft. And you are an illegal now.

@ comillabd
I give advice to those in need and not to those who have broken serious laws. I do not want to discuss further on this case.

And...

Your MyEG application for work permit has serious flaws. Read the Terms and Conditions carefully again. Do not waste money on the application. Save the money for your repatriation!

And go pay for the services of Criminal and Immigration Lawyers to see if they can help you.

You two have a common immigration issue. That is why your MyEG  application can  be rejected.

Can anyone check the immigration status of any foreign person by going to the Immigration Malaysia office? I want to check if I am blacklisted or not.

New employers can go to check with photostat copy of your passport. They will not reveal that you have a police report lodged against you. They will ask you to go see the immigration personally. Immigration does not simply reveal blacklisted immigrants to the public. They would only reveal whether you have a valid work pass or not.

You have come to Malaysia to find work. Why steal a laptop from your room mate? You say a thousand sorrys also no use. His boss did not trust him, so a police report was made. Everyday laptops are lost, it is actually a very small matter. But the trust is lost. Do not bring your gambling culture to this country.
