I have a friend from UK. I knew him from Instagram. He told me he works as Petroleum Engineer. 2 weeks ago he sent a gift to me before he went to Bolivia for offshore Contract.

A few day later I got a call from a courier agent from Malaysia. She asked me to pay around USD 1,226 to claim the gift. I paid them because my friend from UK asked me to pay and told me he already put money in the gift for me to claim my money back. He told he gave money to me as surprise gift. I was just surprised at the time.

After I made the payment to the courier agent, they called me again and told there are money in USD currency in the gift. I must pay them the money because if not they will make a report that the money is smuggled. This time, they asked me to pay around USD 3,679.17. I told my UK friend about that. He just asked me to find the money to claim the gift. I'm really afraid at the time. I borrowed money from my family but they did not know the real situation I have to face. I've also used all monies in my savings.

After I made the second payment they told they will deliver the gift coming morning. But once again the courier agent called me again she told I need to pay money for GST because the money in the gift is very huge amount. It can buy one house. I was very shocked. I asked my UK friend again... he told me he put huge amount of money in the gift because he wants me to help him to buy house at Malaysia. I told the courier agent I have no money anymore. She told me to pay around 36791.75 if not the money will be confiscated by Bank Negara.

She then told me that she'll help me make an appeal to pay less. My UK friend forces to find the money to claim the gift. He does not want me to lose all the money in the gift parcel. He further told me that I can claim back the money I've paid after I receive the gift.

I try to call the agent courier but cannot be reached until today. I really do not know what to do. I've already lost all my money. Please help me. Thanks.

Oooh! YES.. You can do something. Send the local bank account number to Bank Negara Malaysia and the receiving bank and inform them that is the scammer ID.

Post here too. I am sure make you feel better... Closure.

He is using Beckham Courier service company in UK to post the gift. Does that company really exist?

Hundreds if not thousands of fake websites are created for SCAMS  purposes. Some are stolen names, but the bottom line is that the moneys you paid to are to local individual names. Compute?

Learn to be streetwise.
1.  No solid hard cash can be sent by post. It is in the Anti Money Laundering Act 2001 (Act 613).
2.  GST for cash? GST is for Goods and Services. Is "cash" goods or services rendered or tendered?
3.  Help make appeal? Not a court of law!
4.  "My friend also forced me  to find the money to claim the gift". Next may be forcing you to be intimate with him. Have sent any intimate private pictures?

Nothing is about intimate private pictures. I was just too afraid at the time because if they make a report about the money in the gift, they told me its cash smuggling. I just worried about my study. What I need to do now? Any suggestion?

There is nothing more for you to do other than to report this scam to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the bank concerned. Nothing will happen to you. Just report to prevent others from being scammed too.

Better still post their pictures here so that the world can see. All their contact details etc etc.

There is no way you can retrieve the moneys you have sent out to scammers. No legal way! Even if they are caught, you will not get any moneys back. 99% are using "runners" accounts.

Nature

Handsome MEN need not put their faces on public media, they just walk to the woman and wow.. and can get their numbers.

Sexy bikinis girls need not post on public media to get their MAN.

Use public media like FB, Instagram and many others to be in touch with family members, catch up with old classmates etc. To add strangers that came from nowhere is to asking for trouble.

Trying to find the ideal LOVE or adventures thru "advertising", one is nothing but food folders for SCAMMERS INC.
