I'm a Muslim foreigner here in Malaysia. My boyfriend is non-Muslim. Now we want to marry but because of family issues he doesn't want to convert to Islam. I also don't want him to convert. So is there any possibility we marry? or as a Muslim if I convert to his religion what will happen?

Which country are you from?

Malaysia is neither a full-fledged Islamic state nor wholly secular. Although during the tenure of Tun Mahatir as PM, made declaration that Malaysia was as Islamic state.

As such it is impossible for Muslims in Malaysia or foreigners to renounce the Islamic faith in Malaysia.
