I was caught driving a bike with an expired road tax. Silly me, did not realise I have not renewed it. Got slapped with two fines: expiring road tax and driving with no insurance. Court date was set in coming two weeks. I have no problem going. However the vehicle is owned by my father. He also got summons to present himself in front of the judge. Dad is currently sick and the is no way he can make the travel from Kedah to KL where we suppose to have the hearing.

My question: Is it possible for him to be excused from coming? Please help. I tried calling Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) but they did not give me any conclusive answer.

This out of JPJ's hands now.
It is now between you and the Public Prosecutor.
If you plead guilty, the fine may be about RM 1,000 to 2,000.

Do you know if I can be present for his behalf? He won't be able to make it there due to health issue.
