About 7 to 8 years ago, I finished my SPM and applied for few colleges. One of the colleges, I only went for 2 days orientation. I did not like the place and services they provided, so I told them I want to quit.

After all these years, they suddenly called me back and said that I have debt with them for one semester plus 7 years interest charge and threatened me to pay for a course which I have withdrawn. They claimed that I was supposed to give them written letter. However, when I told them that I did not want to study in their college, they didn't tell me any of those things. Even so why it took so many years to notify me about this issue now and threatening that they will report me to CTOS and CCRIS and even block all my bank accounts and my passport.

Any advice how to deal with this situation?

If you feel threatened, go lodge a report to the Ministry of Higher Education.

Thank you for that advice, I will sure do it.

But is it possible for them to report me to CTOS and CCRIS and block all my bank accounts and my passport just because I didn't give them a proper withdrawal letter then? Is there such a law to do that?

There are laws but to use it for your case is plain stupid.

How much are there asking for?

And there is a limitation of 6 years to file a court lawsuit.

I am still not sure until now whether the call that I am getting is really from the college or not, but they claimed to be from the college, but when I asked why they didn't  call or send me even a single letter during the past few years, they are avoiding to answer that. But they are asking around RM7,000 including interest for all these years.
