I was an Ex-Malaysian. Now, I am a Singaporean for 9 years already. I had recently cleared all my debts in Singapore but I believe that there are still some bank debts in Malaysia owned more than 12 years ago. I believe that the total amount should be less than RM25,000 for 5 banks in Malaysia. It had been 9 years I have never gone back to Malaysia since I become Singaporean. I do not know whether am I declared bankrupt in Malaysia or not as my parents told me that they did not receive the letter for bankruptcy? Can I go back to Malaysia? Can I come back to Singapore? Will I be detained in Malaysia's prison using Singapore passport? Am I bankrupt? What should I do?

@Wengfei

Personal opinion:

Since you're already Singaporean and never comeback to Malaysia for the pass 9 years what's the point of coming back and seeking for trouble, better stay in Singapore or go somewhere else, bankruptcy is not criminal so no prison.

Thanks for the advice. My parents are getting old already. I cannot always ask them to travel to Singapore. That is why I need to go back to Malaysia.

@wengfei2001

Ask someone you really trust and check on your CCRIS and CTOS with your old IC number. Then only you'll know what to do next.

What is CCRIS and CTOS? Any government website in Malaysia that I can check whether I am bankrupt in Malaysia or not? There are nobody what can really trust in Malaysia except my parents. But, they are old and illiterate person. I have no siblings.

@ Wengfei2001

You cannot get a CCRIS printout at the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) kiosks. Your thumbprint is needed.

http://sspi2.imi.gov.my/

Go to the above website and check if you have barred from travelling out of Malaysia.
Key in your IC number without the dashes (-).

Questions:
1. When did you revoke your Malaysian citizenship?
2. When was the last renewal of your Malaysian passport?
(Check on date of issue in the old passport)
3. When did you get your Singaporean passport?

Thanks for the quick response.

The answers are in bold.

1. When did you revoke your Malaysian citizenship?
Should be 2008

2. When was the last renewal of your Malaysian passport?
I do not know as the passport was collected back by the Malaysia Embassy in Singapore in 2008.

3. When did you get your Singaporean passport?
30 June 2014

My Malaysian IC had been collected by the Malaysia Embassy in Singapore in 2008.

When I keyed in my Malaysian IC to check the Immigration Control Status at http://sspi2.imi.gov.my/Default.aspx, it states please refer to nearest immigration office.

What should I do now?

Hi big big apple,

1. Will the Malaysian Immigration Officer detain me when I use Singapore passport to traveling in and out Malaysia while I owe Malaysia banks?

2. Am I blacklisted in Malaysia? It is because I never change may name. I use back the same name in Singapore.

3. When the Malaysian Customs checks my Singapore passport, will it link the information with the same name and aware that I owe banks in Malaysia.

4. If I am really bankrupt 10 years old ago, why the Singapore gave me citizenship?

5. If Malaysia declares I am bankrupt without my knowledge, can I travel in & out Malaysia using Singapore passport?

Hi Azman,

It has been 9 years that I have never gone back to Malaysia, I would like to check with you whether the Malaysian Customs will take my bio-metric fingerprints when I travel in and out Malaysia?
