@ david600

she is claiming the house.
Now have assets distribution? Was this stated during the Tribunal Proceedings? (her side)?

Quote:   but in reality they never do anything also.
My Answer :  They have already done something which you do not understand

She had lawyer and/or friends advising her. There was already a plot behind it.

i pay the fees?my own lawyer fees is ok, why should pay her lawyer fees??
Wife filled a petition for divorce. SHE IS SURE TO GET THE DIVORCE. So she wins, loser pays all, even if not, a big chunk of it including your house, car savings acs and those other things you have not stated here (esp children). You MAY also ended up paying Alimony, her living expenses, being chased out of the house you are living inside now, child living expenses plus TOTAL loss of Child Custody (if any).

to contest and drag the divorce, need lawyer?
You know how to answer the Petition that is in front of you now?
You know what to say in front of the High Court Judge? (Esp during the last hearing)
You know what and how to fight for your own rights?

My personal opinion is that you secure the services of a competent lawyer to represent you.

For the basic answer to the above Q & A
You need a competent lawyer to represent you. Not any tom, dick and harry or mary, jane or lucy lawyer.

If you drag the case for 2 years,
Your lawyer fee may come to RM 100k.
Her lawyer fee will also come to RM 100k.

So, if you want to drag, maybe you should self-represent.

Don't worry about this at the moment.
It can be one side pay both lawyers fee, or each side pay own lawyer fees, or one side pay a small sum.
It all depends on the facts of the case.  ( who was wrong etc )

You can also contest and drag the divorce without a lawyer, but you need to learn about court documents and court procedures.
You may need to practice public speaking first.
It will help if you are good in English or Malay language.
