I've been made a bankrupt since 2007 but fortunately have not been blocked from traveling out of the country.  I'm 51 and would like to withdraw my EPF (account 2), tried to open a savings account here but was denied. However, I have a Singapore bank account, is it possible to get a bank cheque from EPF that I can deposit in my Singapore bank account?

Why dun u ask the Spore bank whether they accept chq from Msia?
From what I heard from several bankrupts, the current EPF regulations is that they will ask for banking account for direct bank transfer. If you ask for CASH bank draft, they would request for letter from JIM to state that you are not a bankrupt. Some people using MyEG services have managed to get non-bankrupt status and got their CASH chq (you may have been blacklisted by banks but you are not a bankrupt)

You can try to open joint account in BSN or some new foreign banks listing your name as "second name".

fortunately have not been blocked from traveling out
You are one of those lucky dudes.

Thank you very much for your reply. Besides a cash bank draft, are there any other types of bank cheques that EPF would issue if I requested for it? Cash cheques being the 'red flag' for EPF to ask for a letter from JIM but if I asked for regular cheque (that needs to be deposited) and if its possible to deposit it to a Singapore bank account (I will check) that would solve my issue.

Yes, thank God after 10 years I'm still able to travel without issue. I have a 2nd question, my financial situation is;
- I owe 4 banks (3 credit cards and a car loan (which they have repossed the car back in 2006)
- Was make bankruft 2007
- If I want to clear my bankrupcy now, what would I have to do?
- Is the amount owing negotiable?
- would I have to pay the interest that have accumulated?

@ Patgan28

1. What is your bankruptcy amount in 2007?
2. What was your estimated total debts at time of bankruptcy?
3. To clear your bankrupt status, report in to JIM.
4. After 10 years of not reporting into JIM, the banks may offer discounts to clear the "case".
5. Accumulation of interests, by the Statute of Limitations, is 6 years from date of Bankruptcy.
6. There are many other factors affecting the bankruptcy status esp from the "Other Creditors" who may or may not have file P.O.D.

May I ask
7. Were you holding any current or expired passport at point of being Adjudicated a Bankrupt?
