My dad is 60 years old now. Checked through the Immigration SSPI2 website and stated that 'Please refer to the nearest immigration department'.

History:
Applied housing loan in 1997 around RM115,000 but due to economy crisis, unable to pay. CTOS states 'Bankruptcy-Adjudication Order issued'. Checked Jabatan Insolvensi Malaysia (JIM) website status - No bankruptcy

How should I go about it to check if he is really bankrupt?

Jabatan Insolvensi Malaysia (JIM) website does not display a list of bankrupts. Go direct to JIM, show your IC (K/P), then can check.
Housing Loan Joint names?

60 years old still want to report in to JIM meh?
Still under gainful employment?
EPF all taken out?
Date of Adjudication Order stated in CTOS?

Hi Jeff, I was hoping you will see this. Thanks!

Housing Loan Joint names with his brother (my uncle), he does not want to go as what you said, he is 60 and he thinks no point to report.

Hmm I've been always wanted to bring him travel overseas but cant. Back then I was still a kid so couldn't help him but now I came across this and saw most of the threads were answered by you and your friends and hopefully I can gain some knowledge from the experts. He is retired and yes taken out all under my name.

Yes. Notice date was 06/11/1997 Petition date 27/04/1998 and order date 07/08/1998

@ Annfong

What happened to your uncle? Bankrupted too?

Yes. Notice date was 06/11/1997 Petition date 27/04/1998 and order date 07/08/1998
Wow.. this bank is fast.. Should be AF bank.

Go direct to JIM and check.
Bankrupted in 1998. 19 years ago.
Which JIM? Which city/area was your father in last time. Check file number listed in CTOS.

Buy Saturday NST. Many old bankrupt files (presumably dead or missing overseas) were discharged by JIM the past 8 months. Your father could have been discharged under section 33(a) of the Bankruptcy Act. All I notice is that the average age of files group is 16 years.

But... But.. can still be barred from overseas travel.  This is not a clearcut discharge under section 33(a)  (Note, I may have quoted wrong section but this law exist. Lazy to check..) You check la..

Hi I'm back! I'd like to ask you some questions  My father has decided to go JIM to check on the amount hoping that he can settle them by paying small amount every month so that he can travel overseas to attend my bro's wedding. I have performed self-check using e-insolvensi and the result showed no bankruptcy which convinced him that he is not bankrupt yet but I showed him CTOS report that he is indeed had bankruptcy order issued 20 years ago (stubborn man HAHA). Anyway, he has no property, unemployed and having some health issues now so I think we shall give it a try. May I know if he decided to go JIM and realized that the amount is too large (he cant rmb as it was like 20 years ago), will they force him to pay certain amount? He doesn't want to put us in the situation where we have to pay the debt on his behalf. Also, what would be the process like when we go JIM? Tbh I am worried that they might make things difficult for us :(

I suggest your father try his luck by going to the immigration dept first and bring along the result of the e-insolvensi.
