I am an Indian national, born and raised in India. I am 26 years old. My mother was a Malaysian and she was born in Malaysia. She did not register my birth in Malaysian Embassy to India. She passed away when I was four years old. I had an Uncle, her brother, he was also a Malaysian. He also died in 2015. I have all documents of my mother's citizenship include her birth certificate from Malaysia, and my Uncle's citizenship proofs also. My mother's step mom and her half sister & family are citizens of Malaysia.

Now is there any chance for me to obtain Malaysian Citizenship or Residency status based on the fact that I have these ties with Malaysia?! If yes where should I start the procedure?

Any immigrant has a chance to obtain by following all the guidelines of Immigration and the Citizenship department.

Your case can be only of very, very slight advantage as you may have relatives here to sponsor you. Still there is no guarantee you will obtain citizenship. Permanent residence, yes.
