Attention to those who have Overstay in Malaysia

Surrender to Immigration is the ONLY Solution:

1. Bring the passport that you have used to come into Malaysia.

2. For those who have "lost" their passport, go get new Temporary Passport from your Embassy in Malaysia.

3. For "lost" passports and unable to proof with documents the actual date of entry into Malaysia, be prepared for higher fines and longer ban period of re-entry.

I went to the Immigration today and the embassy; blacklisted 5 years. They told me that if I went alone they could have had me arrested for 1 year but now I'm done and ready to travel on Friday with my son. I collected his travel documents and got a stamp from the Immigration for him.

@afangie

They will NEVER arrest you as it is against the rule of 3+1 voluntary surrender, that was just all converse over nothing really. There have been many who have used this voluntary surrender to go home so questions about being detained or arrest does not factor into it.

Glad you are going home and remember as you are a former student (hopefully you completed your program) whenever you come back Malaysia, there are at least tens of companies who hire foreigners (graduates of Malaysian Uni's/Colleges) be it black, yellow, brown right here in Malaysia, all you need is just the info to know where to interview for such job, so as not to fall into this ever again (I have seen many international students not knowing where to look  or who to ask in terms of jobs when they completed their program)

Hi Jeff,

Could I surrender to the Johor Immigration Office?

Or I must surrender to Putrajaya Immigration Office?

@ Lala

1. What sort of special pass was he waiting for from his agent?
2. What sort of "service sector" was stated on the previous employment pass?
3. When did it expired? 5 months ago?
4. When did he come into Malaysia?
5. Which country he is from?

Hi Jeff,

He is from Pakistan and he was working for some BPO company in KL.
However the project end in last Oct and they promised their agent to get their visa cancel and will arrange special pass ( i m not so sure about this part ).  At the same time he was trying to look for other jobs in KL.
Just recently only he got this job offer from other company but now his status is illegal due to no SP till now.
He is willing to pay and exist country if necessary but he want to join this new company asp.
Is there ant way around to fix this?
