Attention to those who have Overstay in Malaysia

Surrender to Immigration is the ONLY Solution:

1. Bring the passport that you have used to come into Malaysia.

2. For those who have "lost" their passport, go get new Temporary Passport from your Embassy in Malaysia.

3. For "lost" passports and unable to proof with documents the actual date of entry into Malaysia, be prepared for higher fines and longer ban period of re-entry.

These developments sound very promising! We could be looking at a short final amnesty before the end of the year like you speculate, like a 3+1 or something like that.
Time frame is 3 months to end 31/12/2018.

Thanks for sharing Jeff.

I went to my embassy by the way, they gave me hope for a moment telling me how it's very simple etc... but the guy I spoke to thought there was still amnesty as he told me about a few cases they dealt with this year. After that I spoke a more senior guy, he was better informed and had updated information. He told me that it's possible to help and send someone with me but they told me they don't have the resources so I have to wait a little but I told them I an not in a rush at the moment as I am trying save and make sure I have enough money for the fine. If I get fined a very high amount and I cannot afford it, the imi court will send me to jail for months!! I think they way it works is they give you a fine and you either pay, or serve a jail sentence.

Do you have any idea or estimate about the fine?... I currently have 5k saved aside for this, minus my flight ticket and any expenses. It might not be enough but I'm working on getting a loan from my home country just to be safe.

The amnesty program was so much easier and with more clear rules. It would be a dream come true if your prediction/speculation becomes true Jeff... Government giving last round of amnesty until December 31st. I will be the first one to sign up!!!

Thanks again Jeff, for sharing the news. God bless you sir.

@  Aghata

God bless you sir.
Tqvm.. but it is better to bless and grease my handphone.

 I currently have 5k saved
It is 4.8k bal now. I am charging u 200 for so much info & advises, discounted cuz it is shared with many others.

Your Case facts
1.  Overstay 2 1/2 years
2.  Have valid passport
3.  Have valid " Entry "  stamp
4.  Not from a country that export migrants workers overseas

In the past there is a scale penalties for overstaying.
a)  1-2 years
b)  2-3 years
c)  3-5 years

So, for your case, do not go over 3 years.. understand?
I remember one telling me that his period of overstay of over 2 years was about 2k++ (so pls dun quote me). Rates should remained unchanged.

The IMI Court normally charge a compound penalty, and fine or jail/or in lieu of fine (for those not caught working). Your 'surrender" will not reach IMI court level unless you are caught in IMI raids.

Your 4.8 bal is now 4.7 for this pc of info..

Cheers..  !!

@Jeff
I have sent you an email to you bladirunner gmail, just asking for your phone number.
You have been doing amazing work, keeping this thread alive for so long and helping so many people! Or instead of giving your number you can tell me your Telco provider and I'll send a pin for a top up.

@Everyone
If you've been reading through this thread, if you read this at any point in the future, if you have been helped by Jeff, don't be cheap, send a small donation. Jeff has helped me a lot. I've preachily read most of this thread in search for help and I can see he never asks for donations but there's like two people that offered. I understand that people reading this thread are not the richest and can even have financial trouble but you are paying for flights, fines, hundreds and thousands, it shouldn't be that hard to send a RM 20 donation to this man.

@Jeff
Thanks again for your help. Keep this thread alive.

@ Lorene

Same advise, go seek help from the US Embassy then surrender to IMI.

Why didn't you apply for LTSVP (aka Spouse Visa) for your spouse?
What is the reason for the overstay? There is a 90 days Tourist/ Visit Pass...

Post a clear pic of the stamp here for better understanding.

Why were you given this stamp in 2013?

@ Nirosh

Thank you for your very clear pic.

Your case, you have been charged for overstaying, so I have transferred this case under "overstay" section here.

https://www.lawyerment.com/answers/questions/11868/what-to-do-if-you-overstayed-in-malaysia?g=67#tab-top

Please answer my Qs to you there.

I will not post any comments here in this thread again

@ Nirosh

Further Qs
1.  Post a copy of your  "Entry"  stamp into Malaysia in your passport.
2.  For how many years the IMI Officer told you that your BAN  is during exit on 14/10/2013.
3.  How old are you and from which country?
4.  What is the actual purpose for this trip? (Tell the Truth). For Social Visit or to find work again?
5.  You have not answer what offense you have committed in 2013 to be given this  BLI/WM.

Answer my Qs above accurately and maybe I can find a solution for you.

You have been BAN  from Malaysia before, under current situation, even if the BAN  period is stated in the passport, IMI Malaysia may still  NTL  (Deny Entry) as you have broken IMI Laws before.
