I am presently employed on a Contract for Service Agreement with my present company on a 3 months period ending 31 Dec 2016. In the contract letter, it states that "one month notice is required to terminate this contract" but it did not states "or salary in lieu of notice". Therefore, can I terminate this contract without serving the full one month notice? Thank you.

"one month notice is required to terminate this contract"
Both sides have to ride out the whole month as there are no other provisions.

Can my employer takes action against me if I fail to serve the full one month notice period? FYI, in the contract letter, it clearly states that I am not an employee in the company as I am termed as an "independent contractor".
