Hi,

I am about to make settlement to MDI and would like seek advice from the folks here on the options on raising the case to the court for discharge.  What are the options I have? I have to try to balance between cost and timely discharge.

1) Must I engage a lawyer's service? If so, what's the typical cost? Any recommendation?
2) What other options do I have? Engage runners? Do you recommend so?
3) File on my own? Would it take more time compared to the above 2 options?

Thanks!

I have to try to balance between cost and timely discharge.
File on your own, cost less and about the same duration of time if a lawyer does it for you.

Thanks.

how do you know how much you have to pay to MDI if you want to be discharge from bankruptcy status? do you call MDI to know how much you have pay?

Or, if you were bankrupt for a debt amounting to 60k (example) so u pay 60k then you can apply for discharge from bankrupt status?

Have u surrender urself to MDI?
If u are, u have to talk to the bank officer first. Once both party agreed on the amount, the bank will give u an offer letter.
Then u have to show ur offer letter to MDI and ask them to calculate their charges..
For my case, bank offered me RM63k and MDI charge me another RM10k for their fees..
After payment settled, pass all docs to court and they will arrange hearing. U can hire a lawyer or do it by ur own.
I am doing it all by myself as I have no more extra to pay for lawyer as I did not expect MDI charge me so much

All of them did not call the MDI,  they have reported themselves to the MDI.
