The call is from Bill Collectors.
Ignore their calls.
Change your phone numbers.
Go seek help from AKPK to make an attempt to repayment the bank loan.

Personal Opinions for the above case only

Ignoring the calls from bill collectors is the best solution at present moment.

But ignoring the debt owing to the banks is another matter.
At 15K, the interests and accrued interests plus default charges can snowball to 30K in just 40 months, the threshold of bankruptcy proceedings.

It will be prudent to try to settle the debt by going to nego with the bank involved with assistance from AKPK (if the debtor qualifies) or by other means.

If a defaulter deals direct with the bank, the bill collecting agencies gets NOTHING..!!
The bank does not pay gaji to the bill collection agencies. Those people gets commissions from collections paid by defaulters through their services. These services are outsourced legally approved by the MOF.

I was told by an ex bill collector that there are different types of outsourced collection contracts applied by different banks. Overseas banks are more systematic than local banks. This explains why some banks would close the defaulter account and redirect the debtor to deal direct with the agent, whereas some banks still accepts payments after temporary opening the debtor account (for that transaction/bank-in only).

The issue now is NOT whether the tactics used is morally ethical or not. If the collection tactic used by one agent is hostile, the bank will just change to another more "clever" agent.
The "cartel" of agencies is there. Just form a new collection agency registered with BNM and pronto.. business again by the same group of collection agents.

The ISSUE is there is a DEBT owing to a bank.

The most logical step is for the debtor to approach the bank directly and try to nego a reasonable repayment scheme if the amount owing is small, esp for those debtors whose has assets and properties on hand.

So, the moment a debtor defaults and when the bank sends a warning letter, go and deal direct with the bank. Do not wait until the bill collectors knock on the door.

Go AKPK and seek help. The bill collectors gets nothing if the debtor enroll for the DMP (Debt Management Programme).

And it is for all other debts(if any) not only for this bank. It would keep other bill collectors of other banks (if any) at "off hands".

BTW

I was referring to the above case. NOT other cases.

I was commenting on "iliana rashid" query. Why are you not helping her instead of being critical of my comments? She needs help NOT ME.

I am just sharing my views and opinions. If mine is not acceptable, it is just so simple, discard my views and sharing of info.
